Landscape Enhancement Crew Leader

Candidates for this job must enjoy hard, physical labor, working with their hands, being outside in all forms of weather (rain, shine, heat, cold), and being part of a cohesive team.

Candidate must be reliable, possess the ability to perform excellent workmanship congruent with the APHIX culture. Ideal candidates should possess at least 2 years of comparable work experience.

Job Duties:

- Effectively operate heavy equipment, chainsaws, backpack blowers, tillers, truck, and trailers.

- Installing shrubs, trees, sod, stone, gravel, mulch, pine straw, and irrigation systems on commercial and residential properties

- Supervising coworkers, ensuring that they are able to successfully and efficiently complete the tasks that you assign them.

- Managing crew’s time to warrant optimal performance.

- Ensuring that all assigned sites meet the APHIX standard.

- Ability to take direction from the Enhancement Manager.

- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

- Ensure cleanliness of all assigned equipment.

Requirements

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Valid Driver’s License.

- Valid DOT Physical or ability to get one.

- At least 1 year of comparable experience.

- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and tolerate extreme cold and heat.

Additional

- Bilingual is a plus!

Foreman

Candidate must be reliable, possess the ability to perform excellent workmanship congruent with the APHIX culture.

The foreman will directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in landscaping or groundskeeping activities. Work may involve reviewing contracts to a certain service, machine and workforce requirements, and answering inquiries from potential customers regarding methods and material. 

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and contract requirements.
  • Provide workers with assistance in performing duties as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Perform activities such as mowing, landscaping, cultivating lawns, or pruning trees and shrubs.
  • Train workers in tasks such as transplanting or pruning trees or shrubs, finishing cement, using equipment, or caring for turf.
  • Recommend changes in working conditions or equipment use to increase crew efficiency.
  • Confer with managers or landscape architects to develop plans or schedules for landscaping maintenance or improvement.

Irrigation Technician

APHIX is now taking applications and resumes for an Irrigation Technician. The basic function of the Irrigation Technician is to be responsible for performing all routine irrigation maintenance and repairs to commercial irrigation systems managed by APHIX.

The basic function of the Irrigation Technician is to be responsible for performing all routine irrigation maintenance and repairs to commercial irrigation systems managed by APHIX. Irrigation technician will ensure that all projects are completed within the allotted time frame, at or under the estimate for both labor hours and materials, and in keeping with the quality standards of APHIX, LLC.

Irrigation technician must have excellent people skills, communication skills, be technologically savvy, and strong customer focus. Irrigation technician also needs a strong work ethic, strong physic, management knowledge, decision-making skills, and computer skills. Experience in irrigation is a requirement.

Mechanic

APHIX, LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic to join our team. This role is critical to maintaining our fleet of vehicles, trailers, and landscaping equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with diesel and gasoline engines, small equipment repair, and fleet management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, trailers, and landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and services according to schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and service schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist in procuring parts and managing inventory for fleet-related needs.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with operations and field teams to ensure equipment availability and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in automotive or diesel technology is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in landscaping or a similar industry.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).
  • Familiarity with landscaping equipment brands such Exmark or John Deere is a bonus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lift heavier weights.
  • Capable of working in outdoor environments, including exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
